CAR MAKER Caterham has created a motorcycle division in a shock announcement that sees the brand break new ground. The company, which as well as manufacturing the famous Seven roadster operates one of Formula 1 racing’s 11 teams, has revealed three prototype bikes to kick its two-wheeled ventures off. These prototypes, two of which look more like bicycles, have been scheduled for production in 2014, sparking surprise and debate among bikers and sports car fans.
The BMW i8 is caught on video cold weather testing
We have video of the BMW i8 winter testing in deep snow, in what looks to be a a much closer to production i8. The BMW i8 has been floating around for nearly three years as BMW’s nod to an eco future for supercars. Starting with the Vision EfficientDynamics concept we saw back in 2009, BMW went on to reveal their ‘i’ Brand and reveal the BMW i8 last summer. With the i8 not likely to hit showrooms until late 2013 or early 2014, BMW are out doing what car makers do and testing their new cars in extreme weather, this time it’s cold weather testing and footage of the i8 frolicking with the snow ploughs.
Hyundai has reveled its Sonata replacement in Australia - the Hyundai i45
Last year – in September to be accurate – Hyundai launched the replacement for the Hyundai Sonata in its home market of Korea. We knew then that the Sonata name would stay for some markets, but in keeping with Hyundai’s latest nomenclature we were going to get the i-something, to go along with i10, i20, i30, ix35…. We reckoned Europe would get the Hyundai i40, not the Hyundai Sonata.
